My journey started young, rooted in a Southern family where food was love, flavor was king, and hard work was non-negotiable. As a kid, I'd get off school and head straight to my mom's alteration and wedding design business, learning the ropes of entrepreneurship while dreaming of my own path in food and beverage. But when I joined the U.S. Coast Guard as a Senior Food Service Officer, my dad—an aircraft mechanic—wasn't thrilled. "A cook? Come on, son," he said. That lit a fire in me. I wasn't just going to cook; I was going to lead, innovate, and prove what passion could build.
From there, I transitioned to Hyatt Hotels, climbing the ranks across seven or eight properties, mastering every corner of F&B—from executive stewarding to directing outlets, banquets, and the full F&B operation. By 2015, as Director of Food and Beverage at Hyatt Regency Reston, I flew my dad up, put him in the penthouse, and sat him across my desk: "Remember what I told you? I'm not just a cook—I'm the guy running the show." That moment fueled me through roles at Hilton, IHG Hotels , and lifestyle spots like Eaton Workshop, where I held the Senior Director role for Wild Days Rooftop garden Music venue, Allegory lounge, a speakeasy lifestyle bar, and American Son Restaurant DC, all carrying a socially conscious vibe. Now I’m helping others turn distress into triumph. Hospitality isn't a job for me; it's a calling to revive dreams and build legacies.
